CLASS OF 2022

As our school year draws to a close, we prepare to say goodbye to our 10 students in 6th class and we wish them all the very best in their new schools. Sixth class and all the school staff are very appreciative of the hard work that the Parents Association have done for them throughout their time in Ballagh NS and also for all the resources they provided over their time in the school. We share this group photo of them proudly wearing their new school hoodies which was organised by the Parents Association.

Community Games Success for our 6th Class pupils

We had a lot of success in recent Commuity Games Art and and Handwriting events at a local level and qualifications for the County Finals also. We are very proud of everyone who participated and qualifed which is a great achievement in itself. And we would especially like to congratulate Tristan and Sophie on their great success in the Community Games County Finals last weekend. We are very proud of you both!!

Pupils from 1st to 6th class were given the opportunity recently to take part in a wonderful project designed to promote reading and writing in Irish among young children. Scríobh Leabher is an initiative which allows primary school children to write, design and bind their own book – as gaeilge. Each and every book designed was wonderful but there could only be one winner from each class. Congratulations to everybody who took part and special congratulations to our winners – Tommy, Donal, AJ, Laoise, Phoebe and Anna. Winning entries are shown below and will appear on the Foras na Gaeilge website in due course.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

Great fun today in Ballagh NS as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. A festival of Irish music, dance and singing gave everyone a chance to share their wonderful talents. We wish everyone a very happy St. Patrick’s Day 💚

Engineers Week

We were very busy during Engineers week completing our projects. The task for pupils was to construct a 3D playground design using recyclable materials and as you can see from the photos, there are some fantastic engineers in the making. Pupils in the Junior Room also made windmills and St. Patrick’s Day Decorations.
